Ayodhya, March 19, 2026: President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday installed the ‘Shri Ram Yantra’ at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, marking a significant milestone as the temple’s construction reaches completion.
The sacred installation took place on the second floor, which is also the final level of the temple, symbolising completeness.
Temple Construction Reaches Completion
With the installation of the Shri Ram Yantra, officials indicated that the construction of the grand Ram Temple is now considered complete.
The ceremony was conducted with Vedic rituals performed by scholars from southern India, Kashi, and Ayodhya under the guidance of priest Ganeshwar Shastri.
President Received by Top Leadership
Upon her arrival in Ayodhya, President Murmu was received by:
- Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel
- Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
- Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak
Felicitation of Workers and Ceremonial Program
As part of her visit, the President is also scheduled to:
- Felicitate nearly 400 workers who contributed to the temple’s construction
- Hoist a flag at a shrine in the parkota (outer precinct)
Ayodhya Decked Up, Security Tightened
Ahead of the high-profile visit, Ayodhya has been decorated with saffron flags and banners, creating a festive and devotional atmosphere across the city.
Authorities have implemented extensive arrangements, including:
- Tight security deployment
- Traffic management measures
- Sanitation and crowd control systems
Ayodhya District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram Funde stated:
“VIP darshan will remain closed throughout the day, while general devotees will be allowed entry except during the President’s presence.”
Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Grover confirmed that comprehensive security planning has been carried out to ensure safety and smooth conduct of the visit.
